Any canned food that requires an opener is extremely hazardous. If a blunt can opener [most ARE blunt] opens the can, slivers of metal could enter the food. sardine cans do the same thing. If there is no foil top, the food is not safe to eat.
I experienced 2 incidents of this. one was from a can of sardines. the other left a 1/2" sliver of metal in te food. It was well I was going to feed the food to an animal; and, not myself. It was thrown in the garbage to prevent hazards to te animal.
